Most vets offer only one option for health care plans. 

We believe preventative healthcare should be aimed at the individual animal and their lifestyle. So we have decided to have two options for the plans, entitled Urban Adventurer and Countryside Explorer. Each uses a different core flea and roundworm product to protect your

animal year round as required.

FOR DOGS - the Urban Adventurer plan is suitable for those who are not at great risk of picking up ticks or who do not swim regularly. The core flea and worm treatment is Prinocate which contains exactly the same active ingredients as Advocate, a product many of you will be familiar with. The Countryside Explorer plan suits those who visit the countryside (or Bushy Park!) and are at more risk of picking up ticks, or those who swim regularly.

The core flea and roundworm treatment is Nexgard Spectra, a monthly tablet.

FOR CATS - The Urban Adventurer plan provides monthly flea and roundworm treatment using Prinocate spot on and a tapeworm tablet given as required according to lifestyle, usually twice yearly. The Countryside Explorer (hunting cat) uses a brand new product, Felpreva, which covers roundworm, tapeworm and ticks in an all -in-one convenient spot-on given only every 3 months. It is suitable for cats who hunt regularly, go through long grass or are challenging to administer tablets or monthly treatments.

•  Animals are signed up to the plan based on their predicted adult weight. For young animals home delivery is only allowed once a stable weight has been reached to ensure you are receiving the correct product.
• The health care plan company collects a one off £10 administration fee with your first direct debit.
• Tapeworm treatment (delivered) will be based on your animal's lifestyle. Some dogs and cats need to be treated 4 times a year, others only once or twice.
• Not all home delivery services are the same! - as your local independent vet we really do believe we are the best to advise on preventative care for your pet. All our plans include effective vet only products including lungworm prevention for all dogs, something which is not offered by over-the-counter subscription services.

The good news is that the plans are very cost effective, giving you excellent savings on the pay-as you-go price. Quote sheets are available for all of the plans showing you what savings could be made.
